Over the ten or so years that I have been teaching Ikenobo Ikebana, I haven’t previously stopped to consider the little tips & tricks that I have passed on.

Althought there are many aspects of Ikebana that take time and diligence to learn, there are also lots of little techniques that I show my Ikebana students which just help to make arranging that bit easier and, sometimes, a little more successful. So, I have decided to hare some of these with anyone who might find them useful.

The first installment is how to tame thin stems that just will not stay where you want them in a kenzan pin-holder. I call this trick “false stems” and this video will show you exactly what I mean…I hope you’ll find it useful.

If you’d like to be notified when each installment (I have 10 in preparation now) is posted, just register with your name and email address and I’ll add you to my mailing list.
